IRU Projects is a Belgian not-for-profit legal entity established to support the road transport industry to reach the goals of sustainable road transport, increased road safety and security. Part of this work covers participation in European projects. IRU Projects is the “innovation arm” of the IRU (International Road Transport Union) and its 170 members in more than 100 countries globally.
IRU Projects shares the same mission as the IRU, which is to uphold the interests of bus, coach, taxi and truck operators to ensure economic growth and prosperity via the sustainable mobility of people and goods by road worldwide. Finally, IRU Projects has full access to and close cooperation with the global IRU Membership network. This enables IRU Projects to have extensive understanding of real world road transport operations, the problems faced, challenges solved and deep understanding of the necessary requirements for making the EU commercial road transport system even more efficient, integrated and safe.
Role in the project
IRU Projects will work on the legal and regulatory framework of passenger mobility involving new and traditional road transport businesses with focus on aspects linked to the adoption of new technologies and adaptation of boundary conditions for mobility players, contributing mainly to the activities related to the identification of new mobility options and business models, but also to the development of mobility solutions and the engagement and dissemination.
